  Former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, and ex-Sokoto State Governor Aminu Tambuwal met with former President Muhammadu Buhari at his residence in Kaduna State on Friday. The visit was revealed by Imran Wakili, a supporter of El-Rufai, in a post on X, where he highlighted El-Rufai’s continued respect for Buhari. The meeting coincided with reports of Atiku, El-Rufai, and Tambuwal engaging opposition leaders in Kaduna State as part of a broader political strategy. Atiku recently announced the formation of a coalition, including Labour Party’s Peter Obi, aimed at challenging President Bola Tinubu’s administration in the 2027 general elections.                            In order to keep the public informed of its activities especially as regards to the fight against terrorism and insurgency,the Nigerian Army has produced six parts documentaryof thirty minutes each which is scheduled to be broadcasted on Nigerian Television Authority {NTA}as follows:

1. Monday 1st August 2016 from 2230-2300hrs {10.30-11.00pm}Episode I-The Accomplishment of a Presidential Mandate {Restoration of Normalcy}.

2. Thursday 4th August from 1830-1900hrs {6.30-7.00pm}.Episode II-Rising To The Challenges of a Presidential Mandate {Turning The Tide Against Boko Haram Terrorists} Part 1.

3. Saturday 6th August 1430-1500hrs {2.30-3.00pm}.  Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up. The Appellant is an actor. He acted in a script that he was invited to act by his colleague (PW1), Damilola Adekoya,” he said.
