STATEHOUSE PRESS STATEMENT PRESIDENT TINUBU'S MESSAGE OF CONDOLENCE TO CHIMAMANDA ADICHIE AND HER FAMILY With a deep sense of grief, I condole with Ms Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, her husband, Dr Ivara Esege, and the entire family on the passing of their son, Nkanu Nnamdi. As a parent myself who has suffered the loss of a loved one, no grief is as devastating as losing a child. I empathise with the family at this difficult time, and I mourn this sad loss with them. Ms Adichie is a literary icon who has brought joy and light to many homes globally, and I pray she and her family find strength in the Almighty in this trying hour. My prayers are with the family. The Philippines Jail built to hold 800 inmates,brimming with 3,800 inmates Quezon City Jail near the country's capital city Manila must be one of the Most congested jails in the world.Photographer Noel Celis of AFP exposed the overcrowding in the jail with his photos.However,AFP reports that the Philippines government is preparing new facilities in other areas.Philippines has recently embarked on the president's anti-drug campaign which has led to the arrest and death of many drug dealers.Phelim Kine,the deputy Asia Director at Human Rights Watcg to the Rime said ''There has been a sharp increase in suspected drug dealers and users who are surrendering themselves to authorities because they are afraid they are going to get killed next...They actully see prison as a safe haven''.More photos below.
