OVER 25 MILLION PHONES STOLEN IN ONE YEAR- FG. (PHOTO).

 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police. IGP IS IN THE U.S,+ NIGERIA POLICE FORCE RATED HIGH IN HANDLING OF SEXUAL ASSAULT CASES IN A RECENT SURVEY.{PHOTOS}.

                       The Inspector General of Police is currently in the United States,creating partnership for the Nigeria Police Force.In a recent independent study conducted by the Justice for All Programme {J4A},concluded that the Nigeria Police Force satisfaction rate was comparatively high.A departure from previous low ratings.

2. The justice for All Programme {J4A} Nigeria funded the establishment of the first Sexual Assault Referral Centre {SARC} in Lagos State in 2013.The following year a second centre was set up in Enugu State to provide medical counselling and legal support for victims of sexual violence.

3. The two centre operate feedback systems to better understand the needs of their clients and how they view experience at the SARC.The results are testimonies to the changes occurring in Police Stations where the J4A programme has worked and to the Police programme has worked and to the Police officer elsewhere,trained by the programme.

4.The Justice for all {J4A} ratings of the Nigeria Police Force is stated below.

5. The Inspector General of Police,Ag IGP Ibrahim K. Idris and his management Team appreciated this rating which is a clear testimony of his determination to turn around the Nigeria Police Force for more efficient service delivery by ensuring that the Force carried out its statutory duties based on international core values of  Policing with integrity for a safer Nigeria.

6. The IGP assured the Justice for All {J4A} that the Nigeria Police Force under hi leadership will continue to partner with the organisation in all areas its engagements in Nigeria to further strengthen the existing cordial relationship between the organisation and the Force.
