 NIGERIA IMPOSES 10-YEAR ENTRY BAN, $15 DAILY FINE FOR VISA OVERSTAYS Effective August 1, the Federal Government will impose strict penalties on visa overstays, including: - $15 daily fine starting from visa expiry date   - 5-year entry ban for overstays beyond 6 months   - 10-year ban for overstays beyond 1 year Interior Minister Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo announced the measures in Lagos while unveiling a new Expatriate Administration System aimed at tightening immigration control and improving data accuracy. Starting May 1, the ministry will also roll out: - Automated Landing/Exit Cards - Electronic Visa system - Expatriate Insurance & upgraded ID cards - Revised Expatriate Quota system Tunji-Ojo stressed the need for accurate data on foreigners, noting current figures fall short of reality.

IN A RECENT SURVEY,LAGOS WAS RANKED AS THE THIRD WORST CITY TO LIVE.# I DISAGREE.

                 A report released by The Economist Intelligence Unit ranked one of Nigeria largest city ''Lagos'',as the third worst city to live.The city according to CCTV,maintains its position at the lowest rungs of the Global Liveability index.Several other global reports had also said that Lagos,with a population of over 22 million,would in the next few years become the 4th mega city in the world,with a population of over 30 million.The city is placed 138th out of the 140 cities ranked in the latest liveability survey,just above war-ravaged Tripoli andd Damascus.Lagos scored highest in culture and environment,followed by infrastructure.It scored lowest in stability.The top five best countries to live in,remain unchanged from las year and they include Melbourne in Australia,Vienna in Austria,and Vancouver,Toronto and Calgary all in Canada.Off the record,am sure who ever is putting these survey together,have never been to Lagos Nigeria before,that is all i have to say.One more photo below.
