 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police. LAGOS FIRST LADY,COMMENDS APAPA IGANMU BOSS FOR FREE HEALTH MISSION INITIATIVE.{PHOTOS}.

                           The First Lady of Lagos State,Mrs Bolanle Amboode has commended the Sole Administrator of Apapa-Iganmu LCDA,Mr Oluumide Olayomi for initiating a three-day free cardiovascular health mission for residents of the Council area.Mrs Ambode,who spoke at the opening ceremony of the free health mission organized in partnership with cardiologists from the United States of America,said the gesture of the council boss would further boost the efforts of the State government in improving the welfare and wellbeing of the good people of the State.She maintained that the premium placed on healthy living for all Lagosians informed the improved attention being placed on the medical needs of residents of the State in recent times by the State Governor,Mr Akinwunmi Ambode.She said ''The Lagos State Government realizes that Lagosians state of health will directly determine the scope and extent of their productivity either as a government employee or as an entrepreneur.The Lagos State Government realizes this and has always placed premium on quality health service in the State.The government's attention to the medical needs of its workforce and residents in the State is evident in the continuous improvement in the state in general''.Speaking earlier,the council boss,Olumide Olayomi said that the needs assessment carried out by him when he assumed office made him engage people with similar human interest to provide assistance on health matters to the residents of the local government,which is also in line with the charge given to all the LGA/LCDA Administrators by Governor Ambode to make changes in their respective localities.He described the opportunity made available to the residents through the screening exercise as a rare privilege,adding that the cost of cardiology consultants in the United States is in thousands of dollars excluding other travelling expenses that a potential patient will incur to access same consultancy.More photos below.
