Nigerian military jet crashes in Niger A Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Alpha Jet has reportedly crashed near Karabonde, Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State, on Saturday evening, December 6. Unconfirmed reports from local sources clam that the two pilots onboard survived the incident after successfully ejecting from the aircraft. A Niger state-based digital television network, Lapai TV, announced the tragic incident in a post on its official Facebook account on Saturday evening, December 6. The post, accompanied by a one-minute video, read, “Two Nigerian Air Force Pilots Reportedly Survive Alpha Jet Crash Close to Karabonde, Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State”. It was reported that the two pilots successfully ejected before the aircraft went down. Meanwhile, the Nigerian military has yet to make any official statement concerning about the crash as of the time of filing this report.
Lagos State Government has paid the sum of four million Naira to one Mr Monday Imoni as compensation for his property that was demolished for planned road construction exercise embarked upon to create new access roads for motorists and pedestrians in Orelope area of Alimosho Local Government.The Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure,Engineer Ganiyu Johnson presented the cheque to Mr Imoni,owner of the building located at 6,Fadahunsi Drive,Gbeleyi,Pipeline,at his Alaua office.The affected building was found within the Right of Way {ROW} thereby obstructing the on-going works for the rehabilitation/upgrading of Isiba Oluwo Street in Alimosho Local Government.While presenting the cheque to Monday Imoni in his office in the presence of his lawyer,Engr Ganiyu Johnson thanked Imoni for his understanding and love for the infrastructural development of the State and the spirit of love for others.Johnson therefore implored others whose property may fall withing the Right of Way of on-going projects in the State to emulate Imoni by not dragging the State to court thereby delaying infrastructural development projects that will be beneficial to the masses.Meanwhile,Monday Imoni who was accompanied by his lawyer to the presentation thanked the Stat Government for the gesture of compensation,saying if the State were to wield its total hammer on him through the extant laws,he would have been left with little option; he pledged that his unflinching support for the State government would remain for life.
