 GOVERNOR ABBA  YUSUF SACKS  KANO STATE HEAD OF SERVICE   The Executive Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has relieved the State Head of Service, Abdullahi Musa, of his appointment with immediate effect. In a statement  by the Director General, Media and Publicity to the Governor, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the decision is part of the ongoing efforts by the present administration to reposition the state civil service for greater efficiency, discipline, and improved service delivery across all government institutions. Governor Yusuf expressed appreciation to the outgoing Head of Service for his contributions and dedication to the service of the State  The statement further directed that Bilkisu Shehu Maimota, the Permanent Secretary, Admin and General Services at the Cabinet Office, to serve in an  acting capacity pending the appointment of a substantive Head of Service. NEMA,ORGANISED A ROAD-WALK YESTERDAY TO MARK THE ''THE WORLD HUMANITARIAN DAY''.{PHOTOS}.

                     Yesterday friday ''World Humanitarian Day,NEMA {National Emergency Management} organised an awareness Roadwalk with participation from many humanitarian stakeholders that include the Nigeria Police,OXFAM,UNHCR,UNOCHA,NESREA,NOA,NSCDC,FRSC,NAPTIP,HEritage bank and NASOW amongst others.The Vice President was represented by his adviser on IDPs Dr Femi Oke-Osayintolu and Deputy Inspector General of Police in-charge of Operations Mr Habila Joshak who represented the IGP led the Roadwalk with NEMA Director of relief and Rehabilitation Alhaji Aliyu Baffale Sambo.The take off was NEMA's Ambulance Bay beside the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the agency's headquarters in Maitama.Also on the procession were the Country Director of OXFAM Mr Jan Rogge,Humanitarian Ambassador and Nollywood Star Francis Duru.DG NEMA Alhaji Muhammad Sani Sidi OFR received the team on arrival where he also briefed the press on significance of the Day and its theme ''One Humanity''.More photos below.
