 PRESS RELEASE FG, WORLD BANK UNITE TO DIGITALLY EMPOWER YOUNG NIGERIANS AND DRIVE JOB CREATION The Honourable Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun has affirmed that the Federal Government is working closely with the World Bank to advance a shared agenda focused on creating high-quality jobs for young Nigerians. Speaking to journalists in Washington D.C. on the sidelines of the World Bank/IMF Spring Meetings, following the conclusion of the institution’s Development Committee Meeting, Mr. Edun noted that the Bank’s Governors — who are Finance Ministers of member countries — have collectively agreed to prioritise employment generation as a central pillar of development. This, he stated, aligns seamlessly with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which places job creation at the core of economic revitalisation efforts.                  Congratulations to my country Nigeria dream team who defeated Honduras 3-2 to win the 2016 Rio men's Olympics football at the Estadio Mineiro in Belo Horizonte yesterday Saturday evening wining the our country's first medal of the Ro games,The Dream Team VI was brought to victory under Coach Samson Siasia,who also coached the ''Dream Team '' that won the silver in China,Beijing Olympics in 2008.Nigeria scooped gold in 1996 to become the first African team to win the gold medal.Congratulations Nigeria i am proud of our team.{Standing ovation}.More photos below.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up. The Appellant is an actor. He acted in a script that he was invited to act by his colleague (PW1), Damilola Adekoya,” he said.
