 Russia launches massive drone and missile barrage on Ukraine, killing at least 18 civilians and striking Kyiv and multiple cities  Russia carried out a large-scale overnight assault on Ukraine, launching hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles that killed at least 18 civilians and wounded more than 100 others across multiple cities, officials said Tuesday. The strikes hit Kyiv, Dnipro and other regions, with emergency crews working through destroyed residential buildings where some victims were trapped under rubble. In Dnipro, rescuers recovered the bodies of a 3-year-old child and a mother and her 8-year-old son, while officials reported 12 deaths in the city and six in Kyiv. The bombardment stretched from night into daylight, with explosions reported across wide areas of the country. THE DEATH OF NUNUGWO:THISDAY LIED.-EFCC.

                           The attention of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,EFCC,has been drawn to the editorial of Thisday Newspaper of August 23,2016 titled ''The Death of Citizen Nugugwo''.The attempt by This day to call attention to the unfortunate incident of the sudden death of Nunugwo,a fraud suspect of the EFCC in the said editorial appears salutary,on the surface,as the public deserves to be properly informed on the circumstances leading to his death.The EFCC appreciates this fact,and has never shied away from sharing information regarding the sad occurrence with the public.The need for openness in the handling of the issue partly informed the decision of the Commission to announce the death and provided vivid account of the chain of events before and after his demise in a press statement on June 10,2016 by its spokesperson,Wilson Uwujaren.The EFCC has come clean on this matter and will welcome investigation by any agency as it has nothing to hide.
