 SPORTS INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT: LAGOS UNVEILS ZEN ARCHERY ARENA As part of  Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu's commitment to promoting inclusion, the Lagos State Sports Commission, in collaboration with Zen Archery recently unveiled the Lagos Zen Archery Arena at Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere. Speaking at the unveiling, the Director General of Lagos State Sports Commission, Lekan Fatodu, said the Lagos Zen Archery Arena is a testament to the present administration’s commitment to advancing, supporting, and promoting mass participation in sports. He said "This facility provides opportunities for different categories of archers to have a befitting space to practice and develop their talents in archery. This attests to possibilities in sports development and to give diversity and inclusivity in sports not just in Lagos but in Nigeria at large".                 President Mohammadu Buhari received President Patrice Talon of Republic of Benin,today at the State House for an official visit to Nigeria.This the first visit to Nigeria for the Benin President who apologized for not going sooner since President Buhari was away when he wanted to visit.According to Jeune Afrique,First trip abroad for all Benin Presidents after their sworn in is to visit its neighbour Nigeria.Benin has been hit hard by the fall of the Nigerian currency naira because of the trade between the two nations.Patricia Talon said during the celebrations of the 56th anniversary of the independence of Benin on Monday that ''It is hoped that Nigeria gets better.Our lives are linked.What matters to me is that the Benin generation goes more freely in Nigeria''.More photos below.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up. The Appellant is an actor. He acted in a script that he was invited to act by his colleague (PW1), Damilola Adekoya,” he said.
