 RE: MISLEADING CLAIMS REGARDING EXTORTION OF MOTORISTS BY LAGOS STATE TASKFORCE – YET-TO-BE-IDENTIFIED SECURITY OPERATIVES: ANOTHER CASE OF MISTAKEN IDENTITY The Lagos State Taskforce wishes to address a misleading narrative circulating on social media, particularly in a viral video shared by protesters and concerned groups who recently demonstrated at the Lagos State House of Assembly. The protest was in response to the alleged extortion of motorists by security operatives, yet to be identified, who are not officials of the Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences Unit. We categorically state that the Lagos State Taskforce had no involvement in the said incident. CqirqQEWIAU3xoZ                        John Kerry,the US Secretary of State was spotted today with the Sultan of Sokoto for an official visit.John Kerry spoke highly of the Sultan for promoting religious tolerance and understanding among Nigerians.Citing that,the Sultanate Council was building a community of tolerance for peace,progress and political stability in Nigeria.After which Kerry had a closed door meeting with Sultan Sa'ad Abubakar and some leaders of the two major religions according to reports by Vanguard.U.S Secretary of State John Kerry said today tuesday in Sokoto that ''We also know that beating Boko Haram on the battlefield is only the beginning of what we must do..Building public trust in government also requires cooperation from the military and law enforcement.Extremism can't be defeated through repression or fear''.John Kerry will also meet with President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja to discuss counter-terrorism efforts,the Nigerian economy,and the fight against corruption and human rights issues.Kery will leave Nigeria for Saudi Arabia,tomorrow wednesday,August 24.More photos below.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
