 Germany and Austria to tap oil reserves after 400 million barrels requested  Germany and Austria announced they are releasing portions of their oil reserves in response to an International Energy Agency request for member nations to collectively release 400 million barrels to help ease rising energy prices linked to the Iran conflict. Japan also said it will begin releasing part of its reserves starting Monday. The move marks one of the largest coordinated releases of emergency oil stocks in history. The previous record came in 2022, when IEA members released 182.7 million barrels following the energy disruptions caused by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Member countries currently hold over 1.2 billion barrels of public emergency oil stocks, along with an additional 600 million barrels of industry stocks maintained under government requirements. Image result for nigeria police logo                             The spokesman for the command,Mr Ebere Amaraizu,disclosed to the News Agency of Nigeria {NANA} that locally made guns and two short axes were recovered from the bandits.Mr Amaraizu said tthat amongst other items recovered were TV sets,DVDs,standing fans,six mobile phones,all of which are suspected to have been stolen from victims.He added that the gang was picked up by the police following a tip from some members of the public.He said ''The police operatives in Adani Division in the early hours of Saturday,September 10 nabbed six notorious armed bandits.They have been terrorising the residents of Opanda,Nimbo and Adani communities in Uzo-Uwani LGA of the state and its environs.Suspects,name withheld,are helping the police in their investigations in relations to their alleged nefarious activities.Their activities ranges from armed robbery and burglary among others'''.He further revealed that the command has now begun a manhunt for the remaining members of the gang.
