 Obosi Councillor Donates Bus to Students, Leads Fight Against Cultism By Chiedu Uche Okoye  Hon. Obichukwu Anyafulu (Zik), Councillor for Obosi ward, has donated a bus to students, who attend schools located in Obosi.  The councillor made the disclosure in an interview with the journalist at his Obosi country home, on July 11. Hon. Anyafulu said that the humanitarian deed he performed for the students was borne out of his belief that education is the cornerstone of national development.  "Education is the bedrock of national development. And only educated people who possess knowledge and skills can drive our developmental initiatives. "Based on that, I don't want students in Obosi to stay at home on school days because their parents cannot give them transportation fares," he said.  He further clarified that the bus would serve the additional purpose of conveying people to churches on Sundays, stating that religion is a tool for moulding the personalities of you...

                        According to sources,a 911 Lorry yesterday wednesday crushed a mother and her grand child to death at IKB Junction,Ejighinandu,near Eke Awka-Etiti along Nnobi-Ekwulobis Express Way in Idemili South local government of Anambra State after it lost its break from Eke Awka-etiti.The woman he crushed was popularly known as mama Ejima,a widow who sells banana to meet up with the pressures of existential survival siince her husband left her early.With the corpses of the victims decapitated,heads crushed and the woman's hand cut off,the children of the woman were crying uncontrollably beside their late mother,while the crowd watched helplessly unil Obiano's convoy coming back from a function at Mbosi arrived the scene.Anambra State Governor,Chief Willie Obiano who could not hold back tears on seeing the gory site ordered his convoy to take the corpses to our Lady of Fatima mortuary using the convoy Ambulance.Amidst shouts from the crowd and under the supervision of the governor,his medical team,with the help of his security officers gathered the corpses and took them to the mortuary together with the woman's son and daughter.While condoling with the people of Awka-Ekiti,Governor Obiano urged them to go about their normal businesses promising to do his best to assuage the pains of the bereaved family.Obiano also warned careless drivers to stay off Anambra State noting that no live of any Onye Anambra is worth being wasted.
