 In a bold move to address Japan’s deepening demographic crisis, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government has introduced a four-day workweek for its employees.  This initiative is aimed at promoting work-life balance and encouraging higher birth rates, particularly as Japan faces a declining population and ageing society. Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike announced the policy as part of broader reforms to support working parents and modernize employment practices in the face of long-standing gender inequality and falling fertility rates. Alongside the shorter workweek, the government has also launched a “childcare partial leave” scheme. Under this policy, working parents can reduce their daily working hours by two, offering greater flexibility in managing childcare responsibilities. BAN ON BURIALS IN BENIN IS STILL IN FORCE-BENIN TRADITIONAL COUNCIL.

Image result for oshiomhole                 According to sources,the Benin Traditional Council {BTC} yesterday thursday re-affirmed the earlier ban placed on burial ceremonies during the coronation activities of the new Oba of Benin,Omo N Oba N' Edo,Uku Akpolokpolo,Oba Ewuare.''The attention of the Benin Traditional Council has been drawn to an unauthorised press release issued by the Coronation planning Committee as it relates to burial ceremonies within the period of the coronation activities.For the avoidance of doubt,the Benin Traditional Council hereby use this medium to inform the general public that the post coronation ceremonies of His Royal Majesty,Omo N' Oba N' Edo ,Uku Akpolokpolo,Oba Ewuara 11,Oba of Benin ,is still on-going till December ending {31st December,2016} with Ekasa Dance,except the Oba directs it should end earlier.Consequently,prohibition of funeral activities is still in place,during the period of Ekasa performance.This information supersedes the earlier press statement made by the coronation planning committee.The general public should please take note and comply strictly with the prohibition order,'' BTC said in a statement signed by its Secretary,Frank Irabor.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
