 BREAKING NEWS ANAMBRA POLICE RECORD FURTHER BREAKTHROUGH IN OGIDI, RECOVER MORE ARMS In continuation of an earlier operation by Operatives of the Rapid Response Squad, Awkuzu, which led to the arrest of three suspects and recovery of arms in Ogidi on 21st March 2026, the Anambra State Police Command has recorded further breakthrough following sustained investigation and interrogation. The Operatives made additional progress with the arrest of the suspected ringleader of the syndicate, one Chukwuka Anene ‘M’, aged 46 years, who confessed to being the armourer of the gang. The suspect subsequently led Police operatives to the gang’s hideout in Ogidi, where the following items were recovered: two pump-action guns, two locally made Beretta pistols, five rounds of 9mm ammunition, seven live cartridges, a beret linked to a cult group, and body armour. EFCC ASSURES PRO-PATIENCE JONATHAN PROTESTERS OF FAIRNESS AND PROMPT RESPONSE.{PHOTOS}.

              The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,EFCC,has assured the public of its fairness and readiness to attend to all issues referred to it without any delay.This assurance was given on Thursday by the South-South Zonal Head of Publicc Affairs of the Commission,Mr. Oladele Oyewale while receiving some women protesters who thronged the South-South Zonal Office of the EFCC in Port Harcourt.The women,numbering about 100,stormed the EFCC's office chanting various songs and carrying different placards and banners with inscriptions bearing their grievances.The main thrust of their grievances was that the ''EFCC should release the $15million Patience Jonathan's money without delay''.Some inscriptions on the banners are : ''Please,EFCC,the malady of Mrs Patience Jonathan is of great cooncern to us,come to our aid in Allah's name''. ''Leave our mother alone''; ''Mr Chairman Sir, {EFCC} pls fight corruption with love''; ''Leave Ex-president wife alone''; ''Magu,unfreeze Mrs Patience Jonathan Account'', among others.Leader of the protesters, High Chief Rita N.Onwunali Adandigbo,said that her group,Voice of Niger Delta Women,supported the corruption agenda of President Muhammadu Buhari but was in the EFCC to express its worry over the ''deteriorating health situation of Mrs Patience Jonathan owing to the non-release of her money by the EFCC''.Responding,Oyewale assured the group that their grievances would be looked into promptly and objectively.''We will report your grievances to the Ag.Executive chairman,Mr Ibrahim Magu and he will carefully look into it.We will report everything you have said to him and actions will be taken accordingly'' he said.More photos below.

 How Suspected Phone Snatchers Killed Army Lieutenant In Kaduna  An army officer identified as Lieutenant IM Abubakar has reportedly been hacked to death by a gang that specialises in phone snatching and other crimes. The deceased was killed in the Unguwan Sarki area of Kaduna metropolis during the week. A popular counter-insurgency expert and security analyst in Lake Chad, Zagazola Makama disclosed this in a Twitter post. Makama described Abubakar as a talented officer.  He said, “Lt IM Abubakar(Isa) A Young Talented Army Officer Was Killed By Phone Snatchers on His Way Home In Unguwan Sarki, Kaduna. May his soul rest in peace.”
