 PRESS RELEASE:  ARREST OF SUSPECT FOR ABDUCTION AND DEFILEMENT OF A 14-YEAR-OLD The Rivers State Police Command wishes to inform the public of a recent arrest concerning a case of abduction and defilement. On April 2, 2025, at approximately 3:20 am, operatives of the C4I Strike Force, while on a routine patrol along the Casablanca Axis, GRA Phase-2, Port Harcourt, apprehended one Emmanuel Godwin (male, 23 years old) of 25 Chinda Street, Ikwerre Road, Port Harcourt. The suspect was found in the company of a minor, name withheld (female, 14 years old), of 11 Nwogu Martins Street, Chinda, Ikwerre Road, Port Harcourt. Upon interrogation, the suspect confessed to abducting the minor and detaining her in a room where three other individuals also engaged in unlawful acts with her for over a week. NIGERIA TROOPS FOIL ANOTHER SUICIDE BOMB ATTEMPT TODAY ON BAKASSI IDP CAMP MAIDUGURI.{PHOTOS}.

                                                At about 9.00am this morning,troops of Operation LAFIYA DOLE deployed behind Bakassi Internally Displaced Persons {IDP} camp,intercepted and killed a male suicide bomber who had attempted to sneak through the troops inner parapet towards the IDP camp.The vigilant sentry sighted the bomber and laid in wait until the suicide bomber came close.The sniper instantlt shot and killed the terrorists as he tried to force his way to the western flank of the IDP camp fence.Unfortunately,the Improvised Explosive Device {IED} vest strapped on the bomber failed to detonate.Consequently,a combined team of military and police Explosive Ordinance Device {EOD} have been called to safely detonate the IED.The situation at the camp and the general area is calm.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
