 NIGERIAN ARMY DID NOT  CONFISCATE PROPERTY OF ENUGU RESIDENT, IT RIGHTFULLY BELONGS TO THE NA The Nigerian Army (NA) has been notified of a viral petition written by the Civil Rights Realisation and Advancement Network (CRRAN) alleging that 82 Division of the NA is threatening to forcefully and unlawfully take over a property situated at Plot 30, Abakaliki Road, Enugu, which includes No. 7 Abakaliki Lane in the Government Residential Area (GRA) of Enugu State.  The NA wishes to state that the  petition, which  also posits that 82 Division, in defiance to a letter from the Office of the Chief of Army Staff decided to take the law into its hand and supplant the rule of law, is completely unfounded and intended to tarnish the ongoing efforts of the NA to restore peace and tranquility in the South East Region.  It is therefore necessary to set the record straight  in order not to mislead the public. Image result for shell logo                                         According to Vanguard,Shell has appointed a new Vice President for Nigeria and Gabon.He is Peter Costello and succeeds Markus Droll who assumes a new role of Executive Vice President,Projects in Shell International based in Rijswijk,The Netherlands.Peter Costello has spent over three decades in the oil and gas industry,starting his career in British Gas and working in the UK,India,The Philippines,Thailand and Kazakhstan.He tansferred to Shell following the combination with BG in June 2016.Peter,who has assumed duty in Lagos,said: ''I come to Nigeria with high hopes of what we can do to build on the excellent work that I've met on the ground.Shell Companies in Nigeria are major contributors to the economy,through the energy they produce and the revenues they generate for the country,'' among others,but also via their supply chains,local content and social investment.Given the exceptional talent here and the huge resource base of the country,I'm confident we can address the challenges in our operating environment,and continue to deliver real value to all stakeholders.My sentiments for Gabon are similar as we work to reposition our business and take advantage of new opportunities,''

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. Namtira Bwala has threatened to file a lawsuit against the school authorities if her abusers are not punished within 48 hours. In a letter drafted by her lawyers, Deji Adeyanju and Co, Namtira asked the school authorities to immediately investigate and pronounce the stiffest punishments in the student’s rule book on Ms.Maryam Hassan, Miss Faliya, and nine other students who bullied her.
