Man brutalises his pregnant wife in Anambra In another case of domestic violence, a pregnant woman was brutally beaten by her husband in Ichi, Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra State. The mother of three identified as Chinelo Francis, from Ebonyi State, said trouble began when she requested money from her husband, Peter, to prepare food. According to the young woman, she had already bought vegetable with the profit she made from her shop. Peter, also from Ebonyi, claimed he didn’t make money that day and took the children home. He returned to her shop at around 8:00 PM and insisted she close up and come home with him. She refused, explaining that the time was when she typically made most of her sales. Later, she closed up her shop, went home at 9:30 PM, prepared the children for bed, and retired. The interviewer urged her to go straight to the point, asking when the assault occurred. It was a harvest of medals at the just concluded National Youth Games at the University of Ilorin,Kwara State,as Team Anambra won 8 medals in ten events.The state team participated in the events alongside their counterparts from other States in the federation,including FCT.However,the team won a total of 7 Gold medals,3 Silver medals and 8 Bronze medals.In the game of chess,the State team came out the overall best/first in the event with 4 Gold medals and one Silver medal.The State Female Cricket team emerged winner/first in the game of Cricket after beating their Akwa-Ibom counterpart by 7 crickets.The State Wrestling team came second in the tournament with one gold,one silver and one bronze medals out of 3 medals for the wrestling event.However,sequel to the wonderful performance by the Chess team,Ikegbunam Helen who won 3 gold medals and Omesu Miracle who won 2 Gold and one silver medals have been selected for National camp.While the team will represent Nigeria at the African Youth Championship in Tunisia,come December 20
