 BREAKING NEWS ANAMBRA POLICE RECORD FURTHER BREAKTHROUGH IN OGIDI, RECOVER MORE ARMS In continuation of an earlier operation by Operatives of the Rapid Response Squad, Awkuzu, which led to the arrest of three suspects and recovery of arms in Ogidi on 21st March 2026, the Anambra State Police Command has recorded further breakthrough following sustained investigation and interrogation. The Operatives made additional progress with the arrest of the suspected ringleader of the syndicate, one Chukwuka Anene ‘M’, aged 46 years, who confessed to being the armourer of the gang. The suspect subsequently led Police operatives to the gang’s hideout in Ogidi, where the following items were recovered: two pump-action guns, two locally made Beretta pistols, five rounds of 9mm ammunition, seven live cartridges, a beret linked to a cult group, and body armour.                   Lagos State Governor,Mr Akinwunmi Ambode today tuesday applauded Governor Oshiomole for the people-oriented projects commissioned at the twilight of his administration,saying the completion of the projects at a time when Nigeria was facing economic challenges was an eloquent display of astute,prudent and visionary leadership.Governor Ambode,who spoke when he commissioned the newly rebuilt Itohan Girls Grammar School,Sapele Road,Benin City,to mark the end of Governor Adams Oshiomole's administration,also announced full university scholarship to two best graduating students of the school.Alluding to the fact that education is the bedrock of the society,Governor Ambode said the commissioning of secondary school with modern facilities and top class university underscored the importance which Governor Oshiomole attached to education.He said: '' Governor Oshiomole understands leadership and the needs of his people.He understands the concept of inclusive governance and making sure nobody is left behind.The projects commissioned today have demonstrated the government of inclusion which this administration has been running.This is very remarkable and it is very significant because this is one Governor that actually started well and is ending very strong.Roads have been commissioned in areas that needed government attention and presence.We are very sure these roads will open up communities and even joining three local governments together and also accelerate growth and development.Governor Oshiomole has set high standards in Edo State and he has actually and visibly turn around the fortunes of Edo State.Posterity and all Nigerians will remember comrade Oshiomole very favourable.The truth is this: Our country needs people like Comrade Oshiomole especially at this critical time in our history,'' Governor Ambode said.More photos below.

 How Suspected Phone Snatchers Killed Army Lieutenant In Kaduna  An army officer identified as Lieutenant IM Abubakar has reportedly been hacked to death by a gang that specialises in phone snatching and other crimes. The deceased was killed in the Unguwan Sarki area of Kaduna metropolis during the week. A popular counter-insurgency expert and security analyst in Lake Chad, Zagazola Makama disclosed this in a Twitter post. Makama described Abubakar as a talented officer.  He said, “Lt IM Abubakar(Isa) A Young Talented Army Officer Was Killed By Phone Snatchers on His Way Home In Unguwan Sarki, Kaduna. May his soul rest in peace.”
