Somali PM calls on Somaliland to cut Israel ties, urges reconciliation Somali Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre has called on Somaliland’s leadership to cut ties with Israel and to resolve disputes with the federal government through dialogue. Barre said relations among Somalis should be addressed through talks rather than confrontation, in remarks during a ceremony to mark the first anniversary of the establishment of North East State. In December 2025, Israel announced mutual recognition with Somaliland, a move strongly rejected by the Somali government as a breach of its sovereignty and territorial integrity and criticised by many countries across the world. “Regarding our brothers in Somaliland, I have nothing new to say. Yesterday wednesday the 2nd of November,2016 is the World Day For Safety of Journalist and a Symposium was organised by Dr Amaechi Chinyere yesterday LCCI Alausa Ikeja Lagos,in which the event was attended by Journalist all around Lagos Nigeria and some entertainers like myself {Pink Republic},Korede Bello,etc.Alot of issues were raised about the safety of Journalist and some photo journalist from various media house used the opportunity to table their challenges since the Lagos Police PRO Dolapo Badmos was present.I also made my own contributions and i was personally thanked by Korede Bello for not publishing a story that would have tainted his reputation.A message from the Secretary General of the United Nations Ban Ki Moon was read out to everyone by his representative.More photos below.
