STATEHOUSE PRESS STATEMENT PRESIDENT TINUBU'S MESSAGE OF CONDOLENCE TO CHIMAMANDA ADICHIE AND HER FAMILY With a deep sense of grief, I condole with Ms Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, her husband, Dr Ivara Esege, and the entire family on the passing of their son, Nkanu Nnamdi. As a parent myself who has suffered the loss of a loved one, no grief is as devastating as losing a child. I empathise with the family at this difficult time, and I mourn this sad loss with them. Ms Adichie is a literary icon who has brought joy and light to many homes globally, and I pray she and her family find strength in the Almighty in this trying hour. My prayers are with the family. According to sources,the death toll in the twin blasts which rocked a market in Madagali area of Adamawa state has reached 30.The explosions occurred at a market today in Madagali town in northern part of Adamawa State,the military has confirmed.Residents told Daily Trust that two suspected female suicide of Madagali market Friday morning and killed dozens of people.The spokesperson of 28 Task Force Battalion in Mubi,Major Badare Akintoye said 30 civilians died in the attack while those injured were receiving medical attention in hospitals in Mubi and nearby Gulak.The Chairman of Madagali Local Government,Yusuf Muhammad called on federal government to deploy soldiers to the surrounding areas where he said Boko Haram insurgents set up camps.He described the attack as set back,to relative peace enjoyed by residents who resumed normal commercial and social activities following successful military operations.
