 Sahel alliance recalls ambassadors from Algeria after the downing of a Malian drone A military alliance between Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger withdrew their respective ambassadors from Algeria in response to the downing of a Malian drone last week, the group said late Sunday, AP reported. The Alliance of Sahel States, which goes by its French acronym AES, blamed Algeria on social media for the drone’s downing and condemned it as an “irresponsible act” that violated international law. The act was “contrary to historical relations and fraternal relations between the peoples of the AES Confederation and the Algerian people,” the group said. Malian Prime Minister Gen. Abdoulaye Maiga, in a statement on the Malian Foreign Ministry’s social media, denied claims by the Algerian government that the drone had violated Algeria’s airspace by over 2 kilometers (1.2 miles). A NIGERIAN DRUG CONVICT,NWOKO JAILED 27YRS IN CAMBODIA LOSES REPRIEVE TODAY.{PHOTOS}.

Image result for nigeria drug convict nwoko              According to Vanguard,a Nigerian drug convict in Cambodia,Presious Chineme Nwoko has had his hope for reprieve dashed.Nwoko,also known as Precious Max and linked with several Australian woman arrested for being his mules,was sentenced to 27 years imprisonment in 2014.His hope for reprieve was dashed by a Cambodian appeals court today tuesday.The court upheld his prison term,ruling that it was appropriate and in accordance with Cambodia law.The court also upheld the prison terms slammed on a French woman ,and Australian.The trio were all convicted for trying to smuggle heroin to Australia.Judge Pol Sam Ouen said the sentences given by the Phnom Penh Municipal Court in May 2o14 to then-19-year-old Frenchwoman Charlene Savarino,41 year old Ann Yoshe Taylor of Australia and 23-year-old Precious Nwoko of Nigeria were correct.The lower court had sentenced Savarino to 25 years in prison,Taylor to 23 years and Nwoko to 27 years.Savarino and Taylor were arrested in September 2013 at Phnom Penh International Airport after police found 2.2 kilograms {4.8 pounds} pf heroin in Taylor's luggage as they prepared to fly together to Australia.Nwoko,Savarino's boyfriend,was believed to have masterminded the smuggling and asked Savarino to make the arrangements.Cambodia is no a major producer of illegal drugs but has increasingly become a smuggling transit route.One more photo below.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
