 STATE HOUSE PRESS RELEASE  PRESIDENT TINUBU APPOINTS MINISTER OF STATE FOR PETROLEUM RESOURCES (GAS) AS CO-CHAIRMAN OF NCDMB GOVERNING COUNCIL In line with his avowed commitment to establish a more efficient, targeted, and consistent approval process for unique oil and gas projects in the country, President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Mr. Ekperikpe Ekpo, Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), as the Co-Chairman of the Governing Council of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB). This is also to further ensure effective oversight of the gas aspect of the nation's assets. The President remains committed to unlocking Nigeria's immense gas potential to stimulate industrial development, job creation, and sustainable economic growth. Related image                                                          It was reported today wednesday that the Federal Government has declared Monday December twenty sixth,and Tuesday December twenty seven aas public holidays to mark the Christmas and Boxing Day.Federal Government also declared Monday .January second next year as public holiday to mark the New Year.The Minister of Interior,retired Lt-Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau,made the declaration in a statement released in Abuja today wednesday.In the statement signed by the Acting Permanent Secretary of the Ministry,Alhaji Muhammadu Maccido,the minister called for peace and unity in the country.He enjoined all Christian faithful and Nigerians in general to remain committed and supportive of the Government of President Muhammadu Buhari in his sustained efforts toward building a peaceful,united and prosperous nation.Dambazau also urged Nigerians to use the occasion to pray for peace,unity and peaceful,united and prosperous nation.Dambazau also urged Nigerians to use the occasion to pray for peace,unity and peaceful co-existence across the country.The Minister wished all Nigerians at home and abroad,a Merry Christmas and prosperous New Year.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. Namtira Bwala has threatened to file a lawsuit against the school authorities if her abusers are not punished within 48 hours. In a letter drafted by her lawyers, Deji Adeyanju and Co, Namtira asked the school authorities to immediately investigate and pronounce the stiffest punishments in the student’s rule book on Ms.Maryam Hassan, Miss Faliya, and nine other students who bullied her.
