 Four people have died after a car was swept away at an overflowing bridge in the Makotopong River near Sebayeng. Police recovered the bodies after a blue Renault Kwid carrying five occupants was pulled into the river during heavy water flow on Sunday morning, 8 March 2026. One passenger escaped from the vehicle and alerted police and emergency services. Police say the car was travelling along the Madiga–Makotopong gravel road when it overturned at the flooded bridge and was dragged into the river. The Provincial Search and Rescue team recovered the first body on Sunday. The victim was identified as Lebapa Petrus Mochitele, 27, from Madiga Village. EMS personnel declared him dead at the scene. Search operations resumed on Monday with the SAPS Water Wing Unit, EMS Search and Rescue, the Fire and Rescue Department, and an EMS helicopter. Image result for wole soyinka and his green card                      According to sources,Wole Soyinka a Nigerian Nobel prize winner,who out of annoyance said he will tear his green card if Donald Trump wins,has now fulfilled his promise weeks after Trumps win.The 82 year old said today thurday on the sidelines of an education conference at the University of Johannesburg that ''I have already done it.I have disengaged {from the United States}.I have done what I said I would do.I had a horror of what is to come with Trump..I threw away the {green} card,and I have relocated,and I'm back to where I have always been'' {Nigeria}.It's useful in many ways.I wouldn't for one single moment discourage and Nigerians or anybody from acquiring a green card..but I have had enough of it,'' he said.Mmmmmmm.
