 Russia launches massive drone and missile barrage on Ukraine, killing at least 18 civilians and striking Kyiv and multiple cities  Russia carried out a large-scale overnight assault on Ukraine, launching hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles that killed at least 18 civilians and wounded more than 100 others across multiple cities, officials said Tuesday. The strikes hit Kyiv, Dnipro and other regions, with emergency crews working through destroyed residential buildings where some victims were trapped under rubble. In Dnipro, rescuers recovered the bodies of a 3-year-old child and a mother and her 8-year-old son, while officials reported 12 deaths in the city and six in Kyiv. The bombardment stretched from night into daylight, with explosions reported across wide areas of the country. ABSENCE OF COUNCIL CHAIRMAN STALLS ARRAIGNMENT OF OFFICIALS OVER IDPS' FOOD SCAM.

Image result for idps in nigeria                          The arraignment of officials of Mafa Local Government council indicted in a fraud case bordering on stealing of food meant for internally displaced persons in the council area could not go ahead today as planned owing to the absence of Shettima Lawan Maina,caretaker chairman of the council who was to be docked alongside Umar Ibrahim a supervisory Councillor and Bulama Ali Zagebe.
I brahim was arrested early this month for conspiracy and selling 300 bags of rice donated by the Danish Refugee Council for IDPs in Mafa council area.He had claimed during interrogation that he acted on the directive of Maina.When counsel to EFCC K. Sanusi sought leave of the court for the accused to take their pleas,counsel to the 2nd and 3rd defendants raised objection based on the absence of Main in court.Thereafter,Justice F. Umaru adjourned the case to the 9th of February 2017 for prosecution to amend the charge and arraign the suspects accordingly.
