 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken. Image result for idps in nigeria                          The arraignment of officials of Mafa Local Government council indicted in a fraud case bordering on stealing of food meant for internally displaced persons in the council area could not go ahead today as planned owing to the absence of Shettima Lawan Maina,caretaker chairman of the council who was to be docked alongside Umar Ibrahim a supervisory Councillor and Bulama Ali Zagebe.
I brahim was arrested early this month for conspiracy and selling 300 bags of rice donated by the Danish Refugee Council for IDPs in Mafa council area.He had claimed during interrogation that he acted on the directive of Maina.When counsel to EFCC K. Sanusi sought leave of the court for the accused to take their pleas,counsel to the 2nd and 3rd defendants raised objection based on the absence of Main in court.Thereafter,Justice F. Umaru adjourned the case to the 9th of February 2017 for prosecution to amend the charge and arraign the suspects accordingly.
