 President Trump awarded inaugural FIFA Peace Prize at World Cup draw in Washington  Gianni Infantino, the FIFA President presented the honour onstage at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts on Friday, saying Trump had been selected “in recognition of his exceptional and extraordinary actions to promote peace and unity around the world”. “This is your prize, this is your peace prize,” Infantino said, after Trump took the stage to accept the trophy, a medal and certificate. “There is also a beautiful medal for you that you can wear everywhere you want to go.”   FIFA says the prize is for “individuals who help unite people in peace through unwavering commitment and special actions”.  Accepting the award, Trump called it “one of the great honours of my life”, before claiming to have “saved millions and millions of lives – the Congo is an example, over 10 million people killed and it was heading for another 10 million very quickly. ABSENCE OF COUNCIL CHAIRMAN STALLS ARRAIGNMENT OF OFFICIALS OVER IDPS' FOOD SCAM.

Image result for idps in nigeria                          The arraignment of officials of Mafa Local Government council indicted in a fraud case bordering on stealing of food meant for internally displaced persons in the council area could not go ahead today as planned owing to the absence of Shettima Lawan Maina,caretaker chairman of the council who was to be docked alongside Umar Ibrahim a supervisory Councillor and Bulama Ali Zagebe.
I brahim was arrested early this month for conspiracy and selling 300 bags of rice donated by the Danish Refugee Council for IDPs in Mafa council area.He had claimed during interrogation that he acted on the directive of Maina.When counsel to EFCC K. Sanusi sought leave of the court for the accused to take their pleas,counsel to the 2nd and 3rd defendants raised objection based on the absence of Main in court.Thereafter,Justice F. Umaru adjourned the case to the 9th of February 2017 for prosecution to amend the charge and arraign the suspects accordingly.
