The Edo State House of Assembly has removed Hon. Natasha Osawaru Irobosa of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from her position as Minority Leader, marking a significant shift in the chamber’s leadership structure. The announcement, made on Monday, is part of a broader restructuring triggered by recent political defections. Hon. Charity Aiguobarueghian, also of the PDP, was similarly stripped of her role as Majority Leader. Meanwhile, Hon. Yekini Idaiye, another PDP lawmaker, lost his position as Chief Whip. Despite the shake-up, PDP lawmakers Hon. Blessing Agbebaku and Hon. Maria Edeko have held onto their roles as Speaker and Deputy Speaker, respectively—for now. The changes stem from a letter submitted by Jarret Tenebe, acting chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State, following the defection of four PDP lawmakers to the APC. AMBODE APPOINTS 37 NEW HEADS OF ADMINISTRATION.

Image result for ambode                   The Governor of Lagos State,Mr Akinwunmi Ambode has approved the appointment of 37 new Heads of Administration in the Unified Local Government Service.The Chairman,Local Government Service Commission,Mr babatunde Rotinwa,who disclosed during the Commission's meeting on monday at the Old Secretariat,Ikeja,explained that the development is to further consolidate on the gains of the reforms in the State Public Service.He added that apart from the 37 newly appointed Heads of Administration,Twenty other Heads of Administration have been redeployed to different Local Government and Local Council Development Areas.Rotinwa maintained that since the Local Government is the closest to the populace,any effort aimed at strengthening it is a step in the right direction which will at the same time infuse new ideas,reinvigorate revenue drive and boost staff morale and productivity in long run.He however used the opportunity to express appreciation on behalf of the Governor to all Heads of Administration for their commitment,loyal and cooperation over the years and urged them to continue with the same spirit in their new offices with renewed dedication and commitment.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
