 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police. AMBODE APPOINTS 37 NEW HEADS OF ADMINISTRATION.

Image result for ambode                   The Governor of Lagos State,Mr Akinwunmi Ambode has approved the appointment of 37 new Heads of Administration in the Unified Local Government Service.The Chairman,Local Government Service Commission,Mr babatunde Rotinwa,who disclosed during the Commission's meeting on monday at the Old Secretariat,Ikeja,explained that the development is to further consolidate on the gains of the reforms in the State Public Service.He added that apart from the 37 newly appointed Heads of Administration,Twenty other Heads of Administration have been redeployed to different Local Government and Local Council Development Areas.Rotinwa maintained that since the Local Government is the closest to the populace,any effort aimed at strengthening it is a step in the right direction which will at the same time infuse new ideas,reinvigorate revenue drive and boost staff morale and productivity in long run.He however used the opportunity to express appreciation on behalf of the Governor to all Heads of Administration for their commitment,loyal and cooperation over the years and urged them to continue with the same spirit in their new offices with renewed dedication and commitment.
