 NSC DG applauds Ogun State, BetKing for hosting National Wheelchair Basketball Championship The Director General of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Hon. Bukola Olopade, has hailed the Ogun State Government and sports betting giant, BetKing, for their instrumental role in hosting the ongoing BetKing 3×3 National Wheelchair Basketball Championship at the Alake Sports Centre in Ijeja, Abeokuta. During a visit to the championship venue, Olopade expressed admiration for the rapid development of wheelchair basketball in Nigeria and praised the collaboration between the government, the private sector, and the sport’s governing body. “I fell in love with this sport 15 years ago,” Olopade said. “What I’ve witnessed here is truly impressive — it reflects the sport’s growth and the incredible work being done by the federation, particularly Seyi Johnson and other board members.” The championship, which runs from April 3 to 7, serves as a selection ground for players who will represent N...

Image may contain: 8 people, people standing                Ogun State Governor,Senator Ibikunle Amosun,yesterday wednesday honoured the state Head of Service,Elder Olusola Adeyemi and 16 other Permanent Secretaries who recently bowed out of service.Speaking at a special reception organized to honour the retirees at the Arcade ground,Oke Mosan,Abeokuta,Governor Amosun appreciated the retired officers for their selfless contributions to the mission to rebuild Ogun State.While appreciating Elder Adeyemi who was the 15th Head of Service of the state,the Governor disclosed that indeed ;;he has left Ogun State better than he met it''.The Governor who commended the retirees for sacrificing their yesterday for the joy of to
day called on the remaining civil servants to learn from them anf brace up especially in New year.On his part,the retired Head of Service,Elder Adeyemi appreciated God for his unfailing love and grace which had kept him thus far while appreciating Governor Amosun for deeming it fit to appoint him as the 15th Head of Service of Ogun State.The retired Head of Service therefore used the medium to charge the civil Servants in the state to uphold the ethics of the service,praying that God would reward their labour in due course.Some of the retired permanent secretaries honoured at the event include Pharm.Matheww Adewunmi;Dr. Daisi Odeniyi;Engr.  Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up. The Appellant is an actor. He acted in a script that he was invited to act by his colleague (PW1), Damilola Adekoya,” he said.
