 Up at dawn for front-row seat to history at Francis’s funeral Many had woken up at dawn while others slept in their cars before Catholic faithful poured into St Peter’s Square from all corners of the globe on Saturday, fuelled by a desire to honour Pope Francis. As the first rays of the day rose over the sprawling Baroque plaza, mourners rushed towards empty chairs once they had passed through metal detectors, anxious for a front-row seat to history. Among them was Jean-Baptiste Leclezio, a 22-year-old from Lyon, who slept on the ground overnight at the seat of the Catholic Church to be among the first to enter for the funeral of Francis, who died on Monday age 88. “We took floor mats and sleeping bags and we slept there with 400 people, a lot of young people, scouts,” he told AFP. “There were people singing all night but we managed to sleep,” he said. NIGERIAN DRUG CONVICT ''JOHN'' WHO ESCAPED FROM INDIAN POLICE CUSTODY LAST WEEK HAS BEEN RE-ARRESTED.{PHOTOS}.

Image result for nigeria drug addict john okoro                        According to sources,a Nigerian drug convict identified as 35 years old John Okoro,who fled from police custody in India last monday has been re-arrested.He was re-arrested by the Anti-Narcotics Cell {ANC} of Mumbai police.ANC sources told The Times of India that Mr Okoro was arrested from the Navi Mumbai area,from where he was planning to flee to Mangalore by a private bus.Police sources said Mr Okoro,who resided in Koparkhairane in Navi Mumbai,was arrested in Twenty Fourteen in a drug case.The court convicted him for a three-year jail term.He was sent to Nashik central prison after conviction.Mr Okoro was released from jail on December 31 and was to be deported to Nigeria.He was brought to the ANC's Azad Maidan lock up and kept on the first floor.He was due to be deported on the day he fled.On the pretext of going to the washroom,he jumped from the first floor at Two a.m on Monday and fled.He jumped from the balcony,crashing through the asbestos roof and fled on foot.The constable guarding him also leaped from the balcony in a desperate attempt to nab him,but ended up injured.The officer is recovering at the Nagpada police hospital.An alert was immediately issued for Mr. Okoro.''Around Two a.m Okoro told the constable on guard that he wanted to visit the washroom.He was being taken there when jumped from the balcony.He landed on the asbestos roof as seen in the picture abovre,which immediately gave away'',a police officer said.''He ran in the direction of Mahapalika Marg''.Nawahooo.More photos below.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
