 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken. Image may contain: 1 person, smiling, close-up and outdoor                            A statue of Diana,Princess of Wales will be erected in the grounds of Kensington Palace at the request of her sons,The Duke of Cambridge and Prince Harry.The Princes have convened a committee to commission and privately raise funds for the creation of the statue.This committee will advise on the selection of the sculptor and will work with Historic Royal Palaces on the statue's installation in the public gardens at Kensington Palace.The Duke of Cambridge and Prince Harry said: ''It has been twenty years since our mother's death and the time is right to recognise her positive impact in the UK and around the world with a permanent statue.Our mother touched so many lives.We hope the statue will help all those who visit Kensington Palace to reflect on her life and her legacy''..While the sculpting of the statue will begin soon,it is not currently possible to advise when it will be unveiled.It is hoped that this will occur before the end of 2017.Further announcements on the statues sculptor and design will be made in due course.More photos below.
