 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police. WE WILL SOON RESCUE KIDNAPPED CHILDREN IN OGUN STATE-AIG ZONE 2.

Related image                    The Assistant nspector General of Police Zone 2,Mr Cornelius Kayode Aderanti has reassured the Ogun State government and the people of the state that the kidnapped children of the Turkish International School,Isheri would soon be rescued.Aderanti gave this assurance,today tuesday when he paid a courtesy call on the Ogun State Governor,Senator Ibikunle Amosun,at his Oke Mosan,Abeokuta office.Mr Aderanti assured that in the shortest possible time,the children would be rescued revealing that men of the police are working round the clock to effect their release.He commended the Governor for his support to the Nigerian police in terms of logistics and other inputs adding that the police would continue to work towards a crime free society.The AIG,Zone 2 used the avenue to laud and commend the developmental projects of the Governor Amosun-led administration,which he said,has dotted the nooks and crannies of the state.In his remarks,the Governor sounded a note of warning to criminals that Ogun State will not be a comfort zone for their nefarious activities.He said the government would not fold it's arms and allow criminally minded people soil the peaceful ambience of the state.To achieve this,Governor Amosun said his administration would continue to collaborate with all security agencies in the state against criminals.
