 NAFDAC Reopens Onitsha Drug Market After Month-Long Closure The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has reopened the Onitsha Head Bridge drug market, popularly known as 'Ogbo Ogwu', after a month-long closure for sanitization and regulatory enforcement. The market was shut down as part of NAFDAC's nationwide clampdown on fake and substandard medicines. To prevent a recurrence of the issues that led to the closure, NAFDAC has implemented strict administrative conditions for reopening. Shop owners are required to complete documentation and clearance procedures before their shops can be unsealed. A dedicated NAFDAC desk has been established to facilitate the process efficiently, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.² According to NAFDAC Director-General, Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, only shops that meet the conditions will be allowed to resume operations. Image may contain: 1 person, close-up                  The public is hereby notified that Aisha Shettima Nur is wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission {EFCC} for money laundering.On November 14,2016,Nur,a former banker,was convicted {in absentia} on a ten count charge of money laundering.Investigations had revealed that the convict laundered monies which were the proceeds of crime through the accounts of her siblings and daughter,as well as through the purchase of vehicles and stocking of a provision shop.While the cases were ongoing at both the Federal and State High Courts,the convict had jumped bail,consequent upon which judges of both courts issued bench warrants for her arrest.Unfortunately,all efforts to arrest her by the Commission proved abortive,resulting in suspended sentencing until the convict is apprehended.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
