NAF INTENSIFIES AIRPOWER CAMPAIGN, STRENGTHENS AIR PRESENCE IN SOKOTO TO DENY TERRORISTS FREEDOM OF ACTION The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has intensified its airpower campaign against terrorism, banditry, kidnapping and other criminal activities across the North-West, with a strengthened air presence in Sokoto State to support ongoing joint security operations. The initiative reflects the Service’s determination to sustain pressure on hostile elements, enhance aerial surveillance and maintain the capacity for rapid response to emerging threats, while providing effective air support to ground forces operating within the Joint Operations Area. The strengthened air presence is particularly significant in the fight against asymmetric threats, where terrorists and bandits exploit difficult terrain, mobility and concealment to evade ground forces. The public is hereby notified that Aisha Shettima Nur is wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission {EFCC} for money laundering.On November 14,2016,Nur,a former banker,was convicted {in absentia} on a ten count charge of money laundering.Investigations had revealed that the convict laundered monies which were the proceeds of crime through the accounts of her siblings and daughter,as well as through the purchase of vehicles and stocking of a provision shop.While the cases were ongoing at both the Federal and State High Courts,the convict had jumped bail,consequent upon which judges of both courts issued bench warrants for her arrest.Unfortunately,all efforts to arrest her by the Commission proved abortive,resulting in suspended sentencing until the convict is apprehended.
