STATEHOUSE PRESS STATEMENT PRESIDENT TINUBU'S MESSAGE OF CONDOLENCE TO CHIMAMANDA ADICHIE AND HER FAMILY With a deep sense of grief, I condole with Ms Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, her husband, Dr Ivara Esege, and the entire family on the passing of their son, Nkanu Nnamdi. As a parent myself who has suffered the loss of a loved one, no grief is as devastating as losing a child. I empathise with the family at this difficult time, and I mourn this sad loss with them. Ms Adichie is a literary icon who has brought joy and light to many homes globally, and I pray she and her family find strength in the Almighty in this trying hour. My prayers are with the family. The Nigerian Customs has began with the phase 2 and 3 of the distribution under a more peaceful environment in Damaturu,Yobe State,''we hope that this round of relief materials will help boost the ongoing efforts to return IDPs to this homes.We wish to put on record,our appreciation to all those who ensure that these donations get to the affected people''-ACG Azarema Abdulkadir,Chairman NLC.In the phase 3 the representative said ''I am therefore pleased to announce the donation of the following items in the third phase,here is 22,600 {50kg} bags of rice,6,465 {20 litres} jerrican of vegetable oil,1,833 bales of used cloths,2,390 pairs of used shoes,3,000 cartons of spaghetti,551 cartons of marcaroni,1,099 cartons of soap and five carton of new shoes.These relief materials will go a long way to alleviate the plight of the IDPs''-Sen Ahmed Lawan,Senate Leader.More photos below.
