 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police. Image may contain: one or more people and outdoor            The Nigerian Customs has began with the phase 2 and 3 of the distribution under a more peaceful environment in Damaturu,Yobe State,''we hope that this round of relief materials will help boost the ongoing efforts to return IDPs to this homes.We wish to put on record,our appreciation to all those who ensure that these donations get to the affected people''-ACG Azarema Abdulkadir,Chairman NLC.In the phase 3 the representative said ''I am therefore pleased to announce the donation of the following items in the third phase,here is 22,600 {50kg} bags of rice,6,465 {20 litres} jerrican of vegetable oil,1,833 bales of used cloths,2,390 pairs of used shoes,3,000 cartons of spaghetti,551 cartons of marcaroni,1,099 cartons of soap and five carton of new shoes.These relief materials will go a long way to alleviate the plight of the IDPs''-Sen Ahmed Lawan,Senate Leader.More photos below.
