 RE: MISLEADING CLAIMS REGARDING EXTORTION OF MOTORISTS BY LAGOS STATE TASKFORCE – YET-TO-BE-IDENTIFIED SECURITY OPERATIVES: ANOTHER CASE OF MISTAKEN IDENTITY The Lagos State Taskforce wishes to address a misleading narrative circulating on social media, particularly in a viral video shared by protesters and concerned groups who recently demonstrated at the Lagos State House of Assembly. The protest was in response to the alleged extortion of motorists by security operatives, yet to be identified, who are not officials of the Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences Unit. We categorically state that the Lagos State Taskforce had no involvement in the said incident. Our enforcement teams are led by seasoned, well-trained, and highly disciplined senior officers who are far too professional and educated to jeopardise their ranks, integrity, and years of service for personal gain. TUFACE DONATES N3.5 MILLION TO THE UNITED NATIONS HIGH COMMISSION FOR REFUGEES.

Image result for tuface            The United Nations High Commission for Refugees {UNHCR},received N3.5 million from Nigerian music Icon Tuface popularly known as Tubaba.The commission disclosed this in a statement issued by Mr Hanson Tamfu,External Relations Officer,UNHCR,Nigeria,on Monday in Abuja.He said the donation from the 2face Foundation was to support the commission in providing life-saving support to families forcibly displaced in Nigeria and across the continent,Tamfu said that Tuface expressed joy and commitment to helping the victims of insurgency who have been forced to flee their homes as a result of the unrest in the North-East.He said the musician also pledged his continuous support to UNHCR in its humanitarian assistance to the Internally Displaced Persons {IDPs} and other persons.The officer quoted Tuface as saying ''I am proud to support the UN Refugee Agency because of its proven track record of being at the fore front of displacement emergencies.''I want to help people who have been forced to flee their homes because of different issues.I care about them and this donation is one of such efforts because we plan to have a major charity concert in Jun to raise money whilst offering my music and talents to the world for donations towards this noble cause.I am confident in UNHCR because it knows how to make a difference in the lives of millions of women,children and men who have lost everything but hope,'' Tuface said.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
