 NUT Protest : Wike Warns Against Politicising Insecurity The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has warned against politicising insecurity amid protests by the Nigeria Union of Teachers, FCT wing, over the killing and abduction of school staff and children in Oyo State. Teachers stormed the FCTA Secretariat in Abuja to condemn the killing of Michael Oyedokun and to demand the release of abducted pupils and teachers from Community High School, Ahoro-Esinle in Oriire Local Government Area. The FCT minister addressed the protesters on Tuesday, saying the federal government is on its toes working to secure the rescue of the schoolchildren and their teachers. Wike urged protesters to avoid turning the tragedy into a political issue and to give security efforts time to produce results. CHIMAMANDA ADICHIE'S BOOK ''AMERICANAH'' WON A CONTEST IN NEW YORK.

 Image result for chimamanda ngozi adichie americanah              The book ''Americanah'' by Nigerian famous writer Chimanmanda Ngozi-Adichie just won the ''One Book,One New York''campaign by the Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment and BuzzFeed.The office said today monday that New Yorkers cast their ballots for the book throughout February and said they wanted millions of residents to read it.It stated that the voting which took place in February,were both online and at Interactive digital kiossks on subway platforms.The office added that ''finally,Americanah was the book most New Yorkers wanted to read,as 50,000 voters who participated in the #OneBookNY campaign voted for it''.It explained that New Yorkers were encouraged to form their own book clubs and discussions around the book,which detailed the story of a Nigerian couple that left military-rule Nigeria.The office said Americanah centred around two young Nigerian lovers who departed for different cities in the Western wworld and later reunited in a democratic Nigeria.Congratulation to her.
