The Traditional Ruler of Azumini Ndoki Ancient Kingdom in Ukwa East LGA, Abia State, HRM Eze Edward Eule (Onyenweali X), has dismissed claims by some of his subjects that he abandoned his throne following his temporary absence from the community. This is as six suspects have been arrested by the police in connection with the stealing of the community’s electricity transformer, thus plunging the community into darkness. The monarch, who is currently in the U.S, explained that his trip was to attend to personal and professional matters, adding that he will soon return to Nigeria. "I travelled to the United States of America in May 2025 to attend to some professional and personal matters. I am robustly healthy and fine, and I may soon conclude the task of my sojourn here", he said. Prof. Eule accused individuals he described as "mischief-makers operating under the guise of an Interim Ruling Council" of peddling falsehoods and propaganda about his alleged abdication. ...
The book ''Americanah'' by Nigerian famous writer Chimanmanda Ngozi-Adichie just won the ''One Book,One New York''campaign by the Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment and BuzzFeed.The office said today monday that New Yorkers cast their ballots for the book throughout February and said they wanted millions of residents to read it.It stated that the voting which took place in February,were both online and at Interactive digital kiossks on subway platforms.The office added that ''finally,Americanah was the book most New Yorkers wanted to read,as 50,000 voters who participated in the #OneBookNY campaign voted for it''.It explained that New Yorkers were encouraged to form their own book clubs and discussions around the book,which detailed the story of a Nigerian couple that left military-rule Nigeria.The office said Americanah centred around two young Nigerian lovers who departed for different cities in the Western wworld and later reunited in a democratic Nigeria.Congratulation to her.
