 A popular content creator has died from surgery complication     Esther Thomas, popularly known as Sunshine, was a Nigerian content creator, skit maker, and brand influencer. She died on Friday, 9 January 2026, after complications from fibroid surgery. She had been complaining of serious stomach pain from late December 2025.     Sunshine was first admitted at Orchid General Hospital in Lagos, where her friends said she was only given pain relief drugs because doctors were on strike. Her condition did not improve, so she was moved to another hospital on 2 January 2026, where tests showed she had a large fibroid and surgery was carried out. She later developed complications and died. After her death, friends blamed Orchid General Hospital online, saying she was neglected and did not receive proper treatment early enough. EFCC TAKES OVER 5 SUSPECTED OIL THIEVES FROM NNS.{PHOTOS}.

Image may contain: 4 people, people standing and outdoor                  Five suspected oil thieves are currently undergoing investigation at the Port Harcourt Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,EFCC,for dealing in petroleum products suspected to be Automated Gas Oil {AGO}.The suspects,Jeffery Adaboke,Ayebaene Kalango,Prince Legbosi,Tega Adade,Ifeanyi Silvanus were arrested by officers of NNS PATHFINDER Naval Base Port Harcourt,Rivers State on 1st of April,2017 around Isaka axis onboad Tug Boat PK111 and a metal barge laden with products suspected to be AGO.The suspects were handed over to the Commission for further investigation by E.R Ekuma,Commander,Nigeria Navy.An Operative of the Commission,Gidado Musa,who represented the zonal Head EFCC South/South,received the suspects,Tug boat and the metal barge on behalf of the Commission.The suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigation is completed.More photos below.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive. We have approached Turkey for assistance.” The President, however, stated that the delays were affecting the public’s perception of the administration’s commitment to addressing the security challenges.
