NUT Protest : Wike Warns Against Politicising Insecurity The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has warned against politicising insecurity amid protests by the Nigeria Union of Teachers, FCT wing, over the killing and abduction of school staff and children in Oyo State. Teachers stormed the FCTA Secretariat in Abuja to condemn the killing of Michael Oyedokun and to demand the release of abducted pupils and teachers from Community High School, Ahoro-Esinle in Oriire Local Government Area. The FCT minister addressed the protesters on Tuesday, saying the federal government is on its toes working to secure the rescue of the schoolchildren and their teachers. Wike urged protesters to avoid turning the tragedy into a political issue and to give security efforts time to produce results. Five suspected oil thieves are currently undergoing investigation at the Port Harcourt Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,EFCC,for dealing in petroleum products suspected to be Automated Gas Oil {AGO}.The suspects,Jeffery Adaboke,Ayebaene Kalango,Prince Legbosi,Tega Adade,Ifeanyi Silvanus were arrested by officers of NNS PATHFINDER Naval Base Port Harcourt,Rivers State on 1st of April,2017 around Isaka axis onboad Tug Boat PK111 and a metal barge laden with products suspected to be AGO.The suspects were handed over to the Commission for further investigation by E.R Ekuma,Commander,Nigeria Navy.An Operative of the Commission,Gidado Musa,who represented the zonal Head EFCC South/South,received the suspects,Tug boat and the metal barge on behalf of the Commission.The suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigation is completed.More photos below.
