 PRESS RELEASE FCT POLICE BUST CAR THEFT SYNDICATE, RECOVER TWO STOLEN VEHICLES, AND ARREST THREE SUSPECTS. …as suspects confess to refurbishing and reselling stolen vehicles as newer models On April 11, 2025, following a distress call received by Durumi Division regarding the theft of a Toyota Corolla, 2005 model, gold in colour, with registration number KUJ 208 DA, stolen from the owner’s residence, operatives of the Division immediately swung into action. The vehicle was tracked to a workshop in Durumi, where it was discovered undergoing illegal refurbishment. The colour was being altered in an attempt to evade detection and facilitate a quick resale. A further search of the premises led to the recovery of another suspected stolen vehicle—a red Toyota Corolla with registration number GWA 844 CK—previously reported stolen from a residence in Jikwoyi.
