 Portable apologises to Saheed Osupa, shows off new look after release Controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has publicly tendered an apology to Fuji music icon, Saheed Osupa, following his recent arrest and brief remand in a correctional facility. Beauty products Earlier this week, Portable was arrested by the Kwara State Police Command over allegations including criminal defamation, threat to life, incitement, and conduct likely to cause a breach of peace. The charges stemmed from a series of online statements he made about the veteran Fuji singer. MILITANTS: AMOSUN CALLS FOR BETTER POLICING YESTERDAY.{PHOTOS}

Image may contain: 2 people, people standing and hat            Ogun State Governor,Senator Ibikunle Amosun,has charged security agencies to checkmate the infiltration of militants terrorising riverine areas of the state.The governor stated this yesterday wednesday,while receiving the Deputy Inspector General of Police overseeing the South West region,D.I.G Foluso Adebanjo at his Oke Mosan,Abeokuta office.Governor Amosun,who harped on the need for proactive measures to be taken to nip criminal activities in the bud,expressed confidence that the police and other security agencies are up to the task.The Governor,while commending the efforts of the state police command in maintaining peace and order,solicited for an increase in the number of police zones in the state.The governor called for more police presence in the three Senatorial Districts of the state.He further assured that Ogun State would not be a comfort zone for criminals.In order to further boost police operations in Ogun State,Governor Amosun also seized the opportunity to announce that the state is giving two additional Armoured Personnel Carrier,APCs and Hilux vehicles to the police.Speaking earlier,DIG Adebanjo said he was in Ogun State to assess and proffer solutions to the crime rate in the geo-political region on the orders of the Inspector-General of Police.D.I.G Adebanjo ,who lauded the developmental strides of the present adminstration in the state,commended the state Governor for creating an enabling environment and a safe haven for businesses to thrive.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up. The Appellant is an actor. He acted in a script that he was invited to act by his colleague (PW1), Damilola Adekoya,” he said.
