TROOPS ARREST SUSPECTED KIDNAPPER, RECOVER AK-47 RIFLE ALONG BENIN–SAPELE ROAD Troops of 4 Brigade Nigerian Army, Operation WABAIZIGAN, have arrested a suspected kidnapper and recovered an AK-47 rifle and ammunition during a targeted operation along the Benin–Sapele Road in Ikpoba-Okha LGA of Edo State. The suspect, identified as Olamide Oyeniyi, was arrested on 12 September 2026 at Obaretin Community by troops conducting operations to disrupt criminal activities and safeguard major transportation routes within the area. Items recovered from the suspect include one AK-47 rifle, one magazine and eight rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition. Other items recovered are one Tecno mobile phone, two bags, one torchlight, one music box and assorted charms. The Ogun State Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has recorded a sum of N906,684,498.26 as revenue collected in the first two months of the year 2017 {January and February}.The Command also recorded 344 seizures with duty paid value of N219,813,485.00 from 1st January to 26th March,2017.The Customs Area Controller incharge of th Command,Compt. Hassan Gangua said despite the daunting economic challenges,the performance of the Command in terms of revenue collection and anti-smuggling campaign has been impressive.The CAC called on traditional rulers,religious leaders and distinguished personalities in the state to join in the campaign against smuggling for the economic well-being of the Country.More photos below.
