 Tinubu arrives in Abu Dhabi for sustainability week summit President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates for the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW). Tinubu’s trip to the Middle East is at the invitation of the President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The Special Assistant to the President on Social Media, Dada Olusegun, announced Tinubu’s arrival in a post on his X page. He accompanied the post with a short video showing Tinubu’s arrival in the UAE. “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu arrives in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, where he is received by Sheikh Shakhboot Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, UAE,” Olusegun wrote. The summit, themed “The Nexus of Next: Supercharging Sustainable Progress,” is scheduled to run from 12 to 18 January in Abu Dhabi. Image may contain: 12 people, people smiling, people standing, hat and outdoor               Nollywood Legend,Chief Pete Edochie on tuesday,stormed the flagging off of Anambra Cargo and Passenger Airport by Governor Willie M Obiano at Umueri.I reported earlier this week that the Governor of Anambra State on April 11 signed a Memorandum of Understanding {MoU} that would ensure the immediate commencement of work on the proposed Umueri International Cargo Airport with a view to having the airport ready for use in three years.The agreement was between the Government of Anambra State,China Aviation,Orient Petroleum Resources Ltd and Elite International Investment Holdings Ltd.More photos below.

  SSANU, NASU threaten strike over withheld salaries The Joint Action Committee of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions have threatened to disrupt industrial peace in universities should the government fail to release the withheld salaries of members. The salaries were seized by the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari during their strike in 2022. The unions, in a joint letter signed on Friday by the President of SSANU, Muhammed Ibrahim and General Secretary of NASU, Peters Adeyemi, questioned the rationale with which the government released four months withheld salaries to members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities but failed to release the withheld salaries of non-academic staff.
