TROOPS ARREST SUSPECTED KIDNAPPER, RECOVER AK-47 RIFLE ALONG BENIN–SAPELE ROAD Troops of 4 Brigade Nigerian Army, Operation WABAIZIGAN, have arrested a suspected kidnapper and recovered an AK-47 rifle and ammunition during a targeted operation along the Benin–Sapele Road in Ikpoba-Okha LGA of Edo State. The suspect, identified as Olamide Oyeniyi, was arrested on 12 September 2026 at Obaretin Community by troops conducting operations to disrupt criminal activities and safeguard major transportation routes within the area. Items recovered from the suspect include one AK-47 rifle, one magazine and eight rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition. Other items recovered are one Tecno mobile phone, two bags, one torchlight, one music box and assorted charms. Yesterday thursday,the Nigerian Safety and Security Magazine held their 4th {2017) annual Awards themed ''Optimizing the collection and use of Occupational Health & Safety {OSH} data to strengthen the foundations of a preventive culture'' held at the Nigerian Chambers of Commerce Alausa Ikeja Lagos and sponsored by MTN.A Key Note address by Dr Olajide Idris Hon,Commissioner for Health,Lagos State was read by his representatives.Dr Amaechi Chinyere,who is the publisher of the magazine said safety is very important in the work place and I was made to understand that many companies hoard their datas because they believe the government have not really taken interest in that area.Alot of safety Personnel were present to lecture us on safety and also receive their awards or medals.I was present at the event and I really enjoyed myself.More photos below.
