Russia launches massive drone and missile barrage on Ukraine, killing at least 18 civilians and striking Kyiv and multiple cities Russia carried out a large-scale overnight assault on Ukraine, launching hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles that killed at least 18 civilians and wounded more than 100 others across multiple cities, officials said Tuesday. The strikes hit Kyiv, Dnipro and other regions, with emergency crews working through destroyed residential buildings where some victims were trapped under rubble. In Dnipro, rescuers recovered the bodies of a 3-year-old child and a mother and her 8-year-old son, while officials reported 12 deaths in the city and six in Kyiv. The bombardment stretched from night into daylight, with explosions reported across wide areas of the country. Official investitures have been held on the 19th of April presided over by The Duke of Cambridge.Prince William awarded the Polar Medal to Joanna Worsley,the wife of the late Antartica explorer Lieutenant Colonel Henry Worsely.Henry raised over 100,00 pounds for the Endeavour Fund but died on a solo Antarctic crossing in 2016.The Endeavour Fund was founded in 2012,as part of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry's Royal Foundation.The fund supports recovery of wounded,injured and sick Servicemen and women.Also at the investiture,from the world of sport,Jessica Ennis received her Damed hood for services to athletics.Andd several Paralympians also received honours including Lee Pearson,Sophie Christiansen and Jody Cundy.Mark Rylance received his Knighthood for Services to drama and Victoria Beckham received an OBE for services to the fashion industry.Julie Love received an MBE for setting uo Scottish charity ''DAYNA'' to support families where loved ones have died abroad.More photos below.
