 First Female Army Spokesperson Assumes Office, Vows Transparency and Proactiveness Lt. Col. Onyechi Anele on Tuesday became the first female officer to serve as the Acting Director of Army Public Relations, succeeding Major General Onyema Nwachukwu at a handover ceremony in Abuja. Anele pledged to lead with transparency, professionalism, and proactiveness, promising continued collaboration with the media and commitment to telling the Army’s story through impactful actions. Nwachukwu, who served for nearly four years, highlighted key achievements including the launch of Nigerian Army Info TV and a Strategic Communications Centre. Anele praised his leadership and urged her team to remain united and focused in advancing military public relations.
