 Nicole Kidman recalls the heartbreaking moment she found out her mom died Nicole Kidman has opened up about the heartbreaking moment she learned of her mother Janelle’s death just as she was about to accept a best actress award at the Venice International Film Festival.  The Babygirl star recalled being backstage when she received the news, saying she returned to her room “completely devastated” and unsure how she would move forward without her mother, who had been such a central part of her life. She described the “harrowing” attempt to leave Venice in the middle of the night to return to Australia, only to turn back, overwhelmed and alone.  Director Halina Reijn later read a statement on Kidman’s behalf, dedicating the award to Janelle and acknowledging the collision of art and life in that painful moment. NO DIRECTIVE ON YORUBA LANGUAGE IN SCHOOLS-LAGOS STATE GOVERNMENT.

No automatic alt text available.                 The Lagos State Government through the Ministry of Education has debunked reports trending on the social media in respect of a purported directive issued to Schools in Lagoss State to conduct Assembly in the Yoruba language on thursdays.A press release issued by the Ministry stted that ''the reports trending on social media that the government has directed that teaching and learning of Yoruba are now compulsory from Primary to Senior Secondary Schools {SS.III} as from next session is false and unfounded''.The statement said the clarification became necessary following stories on the social media which have been generating reactions and are capable of misleading the pupils,students,education stakeholders and the general public.The Education Ministry reassured the public that Lagos State Government does not implement policies without far-reaching consultations and communication with relevant stakeholders and therefore enjoined members of the public to disregard such stories trending on social media platforms.
