 SOLDIERS KILL ERNEST, BABY MAMA ACCUSES COUNCIL CHAIRMAN AND OMALE OMALE 6th April, 2025     *Tragic Death of Philanthropist and Political Aspirant Sparks Outrage Over Apa Local Government's Security Failures* The recent death of Ernest Owoicho, a  philanthropist, founder of the non-governmental organization 'All Hands on Deck,' and aspiring political figure, has ignited widespread condemnation and raised serious concerns about the security situation in Apa Local Government Area (LGA) of Benue State.  Owoicho, an orphan committed to supporting community development and aiding the less privileged, had recently expressed his intention to contest for the House of Representatives seat for the Apa/Agatu Federal Constituency in the 2027 elections.  Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
