 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken. Justice Alpha Belgore ''said what is happening today is a testimony of the kindness and good character of the couple's parents'' praying that God will continue to protect the union and give them the wisdom to live in perfect harmony.Advising the couple,the former President of Nigeria,Chief Olusegun Obasanjo revealed that there would always be marriage frictions but he urged them to iron out any differences before the following morning through proper communication.Expressing his joy,the brides father and the Governor of Ogun State,Senator Ibikunle Amosun thanked all for honouring and sharing in his family's happiness urging the couple to imbibe tolerance,trust and the fear of be as the foundation of their marriage.Directing the cutting of the cake,the Acting President of Nigeria.Prof. Yemi Osinbajo prayed for the couple to enjoy great favour,love and affection in their marital life.Speaking with journalists,the grooms mother,Mrs Abike Dabiri Erewa enjoined the couple not to allow third party in the running of their home while she prayed for God's guidance for the couple.More photos below.
