 71-year-old landlord arrested for impregnating tenant’s teenage daughter The Ogun State Police Command said it had arrested a septuagenarian landlord, identified simply as Adesina, for allegedly defiling and impregnating his tenant’s 14-year-old girl (name withheld) at Akegbeyale Street in Ifesowapo Akute, Ifo Local Government Area of the state. PUNCH Metro learnt that the residents and other tenants were thrown into a state of shock when the septuagenarian suspect was found on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, having sexual intercourse with the 14-year-old girl at about 10:15 pm in the house bathroom. The minor, according to a police source who was part of the team that arrested the 71-year-old suspect but was not permitted to speak for the command, was said to have made her way to the apartment’s bathroom to take a shower. Justice Alpha Belgore ''said what is happening today is a testimony of the kindness and good character of the couple's parents'' praying that God will continue to protect the union and give them the wisdom to live in perfect harmony.Advising the couple,the former President of Nigeria,Chief Olusegun Obasanjo revealed that there would always be marriage frictions but he urged them to iron out any differences before the following morning through proper communication.Expressing his joy,the brides father and the Governor of Ogun State,Senator Ibikunle Amosun thanked all for honouring and sharing in his family's happiness urging the couple to imbibe tolerance,trust and the fear of be as the foundation of their marriage.Directing the cutting of the cake,the Acting President of Nigeria.Prof. Yemi Osinbajo prayed for the couple to enjoy great favour,love and affection in their marital life.Speaking with journalists,the grooms mother,Mrs Abike Dabiri Erewa enjoined the couple not to allow third party in the running of their home while she prayed for God's guidance for the couple.More photos below.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Namtira Bwala has threatened to file a lawsuit against the school authorities if her abusers are not punished within 48 hours. In a letter drafted by her lawyers, Deji Adeyanju and Co, Namtira asked the school authorities to immediately investigate and pronounce the stiffest punishments in the student’s rule book on Ms.Maryam Hassan, Miss Faliya, and nine other students who bullied her.
