 Rema Becomes First African Artist on Rolling Stone Cover Nigerian music star Divine Ikubor, popularly known as Rema, has made history as the first African artist to be featured on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine. The American publication, renowned for its coverage of music, politics, and pop culture, announced Rema as the cover star for its April 2025 edition. Mavin Records celebrated the achievement on Instagram, calling him the “Afrobeats Visionary.” Following the announcement, Rema delivered an electrifying performance at the Rolling Stone concert, thrilling audiences with hits like Dumebi, Woman, and Calm Down. This milestone further solidifies Rema’s influence in global music, coming shortly after his feature on Dazed magazine. Image may contain: 4 people, crowd                    Senate President Bukola Saraki shared on his social media some pictures as they welcomed the body of Ambassador Maitama Sule.He captioned all the photos ''This evening,I was humbled to join Governor Ganduje and other dignitaries to receive the body of the great Danmasannin Kano,Ambassador Maitama Sule.May the soul of the dear and departed Statesman be granted Al Jannah Firdaus''.Kano State government declared today tuesday July 4,2017 as public holiday to mourn his death.He died at a hospital in Cairo Egypt,where he was receiving treatment for an illness.The funeral prayer was conducted at the Emir's Palace,Kofar Kudu,around 4pm today.May his soul rest in perfect peace Amen.More photos below.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
