 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken. AMBODE MOURNS THE PASSAGE OF LASIEC COMMISSIONER.LATEEF RAJI.

Image result for lateef raji lagos state              Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode on Monday expressed sadness over the death of a Commissioner of the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC), Mr. Abdullateef Raji.
Raji, a former Special Adviser on Information and Strategy between 2011 and 2015 died in the early hours of Monday at the age of 54.
Governor Ambode, in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Habib Aruna, described the late Raji as a seasoned media strategist who was always committed to serve in any capacity he found himself.
“Raji in no small way contributed to the success of the last local government elections in Lagos where he served as one of the LASIEC Commissioners. He was ever committed to contribute his quota in any office he was appointed to serve.
“His demise has come as a rude shock to us as he died in the line of duty. He was a brilliant scholar and an astute writer of repute, who used his pen to enhance the narrative of rule of law and democracy in Nigeria,” Governor Ambode said.
While praying for the peaceful repose of his soul, the Governor urged his family to draw strength from the fact that he made meaningful impact during his lifetime.“On behalf of my family and the people of Lagos state, I want to express our heartfelt condolence to the family of Lateef Raji on this great and irreparable loss. He will be sorely missed”, he said.
