 Russia launches massive drone and missile barrage on Ukraine, killing at least 18 civilians and striking Kyiv and multiple cities  Russia carried out a large-scale overnight assault on Ukraine, launching hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles that killed at least 18 civilians and wounded more than 100 others across multiple cities, officials said Tuesday. The strikes hit Kyiv, Dnipro and other regions, with emergency crews working through destroyed residential buildings where some victims were trapped under rubble. In Dnipro, rescuers recovered the bodies of a 3-year-old child and a mother and her 8-year-old son, while officials reported 12 deaths in the city and six in Kyiv. The bombardment stretched from night into daylight, with explosions reported across wide areas of the country. POLICE IN BENUE ENGAGED IN A GUN DUEL WITH GANG MEMBERS OF THE WANTED CRIMINAL ''GHANA''.{PHOTO}.

No automatic alt text available.            The Operation Zenda Special Crack Squad of the Benue State Command were engaged in a gun duel with Gang members of the wanted criminal aka "Ghana" on 11/08/2017 at about 0300hrs. 
The gun battle ensued when the Crack Squad stormed a criminal hideout at a location on the border with Taraba State, following a reliable information that Terwase Akwaza aka Ghana and his gang members were holding a meeting. The bandits immediately opened fire on sighting the Police team and in the ensuing gun duel, one Danladi Awudu aka Jerry who was hosting the meeting was hit by a bullet while others escaped with bullet wounds as there were traces of blood stains all over the place, however, he was confirmed dead on reaching the hospital.The team recovered an Assault rifle No. 2051679 with one hundred and fifteen (115) rounds of live ammunition, ten (10) live cartridges, assorted charms, two (2) army camouflage shorts and other items.Search for the fleeing members and the Gang leader aka Ghana is ongoing.
