 A priest in Anambra State wedded a couple yesterday, despite disputes with the bride’s father In a video circulating online, the Reverend Father narrated that The father of the bride who is from Nteje had insisted that the wedding should not take place unless his daughter swøre never to associate with his mother whom he has a quarrel with. The conflict arose from past marriage issues between the father and her mother. Before the wedding, the father repeatedly met with the priest, warning that he had already taken the bride's mother to a deity and that the girl must follow him to the shrine to appease that deity before the marriage can go on. For peace to prevail, the priest advised the couple to comply with all the father’s requests so the wedding could proceed, the priest even donated some of the items that the brides father told her to bring to use in appeasing the deity. SARAKI OFF TO SAUDI ARABIA FOR HAJJ.

Image may contain: 1 person, smiling             Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, yesterday (Monday) night flew out of Abuja to Saudi Arabia to join the two million Muslim faithful gathered in the holy land for this year's hajj.
In a statement by his Special Adviser (Media and Publicity), Yusuph Olaniyonu, the Senate President will spend the period of the pilgrimage to pray for the unity, stability and development of Nigeria as well as better health for the leader of the country, President Muhammadu Buhari.

He will also spend the period of the holy pilgrimage to pray for more success for the Eighth National Assembly in the execution of its Legislative Agenda which is aimed at helping to improve the standard of living of the citizenry and positively transform the national economy.
The Senate President is expected back early September when the Hajj rites would have been completed by pilgrims.
