 ANAMBRA POLICE COMMAND RECEIVES AND AUGMENTS IGP’S MONITORING UNIT OPERATIVES ON ENFORCEMENT OF POLICE PERSONNEL WITHDRAWAL FROM VIP ESCORT DUTIES IN THE STATE The Anambra State Police Command today 8th December 2025 formally received operatives of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP)’s Monitoring Unit deployed to the state to ensure full implementation of the IGP’s directive on the withdrawal of police personnel from VIP escort and guard duties. The Commissioner of Police CP Ikioye Orutugu fwc mnips PhD reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to supporting the IGP’s reform efforts targeted at enhancing professionalism, discipline, and optimal deployment of police manpower nationwide. The CP noted that the withdrawal of these officers will help to strengthen public policing, improve response capacity, and ensure that more personnel are available for core policing duties across the state. Image may contain: 1 person              The South East Zonal Office of the EFCC Enugu has recovered the sum of Five Hundred and Eighty Eight Million, Eight Hundred Thousand Naira only (N588,800,000) from the 2015 PDP Presidential campaign probe and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) bribery cases respectively being investigated by the Commission accross the south east zone of the country. This was disclosed on Tuesday August 15, 2017 by the Zonal Head of the Commission in the South East, Mr. Johnson Babalola while briefing newsmen on the activities of his office since January 2017 at the Commission’s office in Independence Layout, Enugu.More photos below.
